Fake Korean Skincare: A Growing Risk for Wholesale Buyers
Today, we would like to discuss the growing threat of counterfeit Korean cosmetics worldwide. Whether purchased online or in offline stores, fake skincare puts consumers at risk and threatens the reputation of businesses selling it. Korean authorities have also warned about the global distribution of counterfeit K-beauty products.
A Fake That Surprised Even Us
At KORAO, one of our suppliers recently shared counterfeit samples of Celimax’s Retinal Shot Tightening Booster. They were among the most convincing fakes we have ever seen. Our initial check revealed no obvious warning signs, and even a thorough comparison made the differences difficult to identify.

The packaging copied remarkably small details—including a QR code presented as an authenticity check. Our partner explained that counterfeiters are continually improving their copies and attempting to imitate the formula itself. However, similar appearance and texture cannot establish identical ingredients or safety.
Concerns in the Middle East
Industry discussions have raised concerns about bulk counterfeit supplies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. We have not independently verified their scale or origin, so these claims should be treated cautiously. Buyers should focus on checking the supplier and sourcing records behind each offer.
Our Main Tip: Watch the Supply Price
Most online authenticity guides help consumers inspect individual purchases. For wholesalers and distributors handling thousands of units, checking every item is far more difficult.
Our friendly heads-up: a supply price significantly below the range offered by trusted suppliers deserves investigation.
Genuine wholesale prices often stay within a comparable range because they reflect brand pricing and distribution costs. Volume discounts and promotions can explain differences, but unusually cheap stock needs a clear explanation and supporting records.
Buy With Confidence
As fakes become harder to spot, knowing your supply chain matters more than ever. Verify suppliers, request sourcing documents, and question unexplained bargains.
At KORAO, we believe a good wholesale deal should protect your margins, your customers, and your reputation.
